My Blueprint

Yesterday, I updated my ‘Blueprint’. It outlines my vision for myself over the next five years. It covers my values, who I am (or want to recognise myself as), finances, personal growth, professional growth, and how I want to contribute to the wider world.

The original version, drawn up two years ago principally remains the same, though I have tweaked some areas covering income, my writing goals and language learning. I am already over 3 years ahead of where I expected to be, with to saying goodbye to my old career and language learning.

The blueprint illustration is up on my wall in front of my desk. So I continuously reminded of where i am heading. Then alongside it I have a sheet showing annual goals and another showing things to achieve on a month by month basis.  For it works. Also I am not afraid to change things. For example I thought I would really enjoy sailing, but since the last course last year I’ve revised my timescales for considering spending 6 months of the year on a yacht.

Sleep Apnea

I’ve still got apnea, which means I’ll need to use some sort of CPAP machine or find another solution. F@@k!

Day-to-Day Spending is OK

So now that I am living on passive income and savings, I’ve been tracking my daily spending against. It’s going really well, with the net position a €25 underspend against my passive income. The spend also includes covering some costs for future flights and hotels. The small withdrawals from share trading will help to create some extra buffer room.
