Not sure Pangandaran is for me
Pangandaran is a popular vacation spot for Javanese locals. Everything here—clothes, restaurants, beach facilities—caters to their needs. It’s laid-back, with no pushy sellers, but I’m realizing it may not be the right fit for me. I’m discovering that I crave a bit more of a paradise vibe—quieter, with white sand beaches, and some Western-style restaurants and bars nearby. I know! I just need to ease myself in to my trip – rather than jump in the culture ‘deep end’.
Focus focus focus
I also need to get myself in gear and start focusing on writing. Four days here, and I’ve done nothing. I think back to three months ago in Mexico, when I had a steady writing routine, even while traveling. I need to rebuild that routine here. I just need to find the right place to settle down for a couple of weeks. But where? Ideally, a modern hotel or homestay, right next to a nice beach, with beachfront bars and restaurants. Maybe Bali?
But then with everything that has happened over recent months I need to go give myself time.
