That’s it! Laptop returned and my 9-5 career is over!
I handed back my laptop yesterday, and I felt completely at ease doing it. Flying over, from the Netherlands, to see Ian in Manchester, in the UK. I am so glad I plucked up the courage to do what has felt instinctively right for so long.
A new chapter of my life begins now, and I’m excited. As I tell everyone, I’m not retired—this is just a new phase where I pursue things that motivate and inspire me.
I will make it work. What is the worst than can happen? I did need to work again.
Talking to Grace each day
I talk to Grace every day about what I’m doing. She’s always with me in spirit. I reflect on what I’ve accomplished and share my plans. It feels a bit like confession at church, where I also talk about things I’ve done wrong and how I could be a better person.
Bit of botox
This morning, I saw the dental hygienist and had Botox done. Joanne tells me that in the first couple of years, for some people, especially for men, who tend to have stronger facial muscles. regular Botox treatments are needed — 2 to 4 times a year. After that, the skin softens.
A bit of day trading
My day trading has been going well, and I’m slowly recovering from the market downturns in July. I need to make this work, as it makes my new way of living more sustainable over the coming years. It is not about making lots of money, just small amounts to supplement what I live.
