My Laptop is coming back to the Netherlands

I got my laptop back! Dirk and Colleen were amazing—they collected it from lost property in Jakarta. I reached out to them on WhatsApp on the off chance they were passing through Jakarta airport on their way back to the Netherlands, and I was lucky they were.

Jet lag (again)

It’s 3 AM on Friday morning here in Spain, and I’m still suffering from jet lag. I’ve been trying to sleep through until dawn these past two mornings, but it’s not getting any better. I even thought that drinking half a bottle of red wine would help, but no luck.

Not going to Thailand

Now that I’ve got my laptop back, I’ve decided I don’t want to go to Thailand anymore. I’ve already done three beach holidays this year (Brazil, Indonesia, and Mexico). I had booked the Thailand trip a while ago, thinking I’d do it when Grace was around.

But now, I feel like I want to focus on my health and fitness. I’ll have three months before I go to Colombia, and I need to get my feet back on the ground for a while. Even though I’ll lose money on the flight, I won’t be spending it on hotels or other travel costs.

Spanish, exercise, and writing seem like a manageable focus. I’ll also have time to sort out the ashes. There’s reading and cooking to do too.
